More Money and Less Channels November 5, 2008

Finally, the FCC is acknowledging that excessive greed is not acceptable. People in the campaign were saying the Obama was a socialist because he was trying to “spread the wealth.” The fact of the matter is that one of the primary responsibilities of our government is to protect the people. Some people were okay with Exxon Mobil charging $4+ per gallon and raking in record breaking $10+ BILLION profits (two quarters in a row… $25 BILLION in six month?).

But we have laws that protect the people from companies taking advantage of us. The FCC is finally launching an investigation to protect us. Have you noticed that the cable companies have essentially moved channels in such a way to force you to have a cable box. They try not to say it is because of Digital TV transition, because they can’t – it is not. They are doing because having you have a cable box is more revenue for them.  It isn’t fair and the FCC is stepping up for us.
